Russians and Ossetians commemorate war victims

The South Ossetian tragedy has found deep empathy across Russia. A year after the first Georgian shells landed on Tskhinval, some eight thousand people gathered at Moscow’s Christ the Saviour Cathedral to light candles in memory of those who died in the conflict. And in the South Ossetian capital itself, an evening of memorial services commemorated the victims of the war.
